This heritage sign was salvaged and refurbished as part of a heritage preservation action by Battistella Developments negotiated during the development application for the new Lido Building.
The original sign was a long-standing icon advertising the location of the original Lido Café that was a family owned and operated Chinese food restaurant famous for it’s breakfasts and Chinese dishes. The café was demolished to make way for the new development and the sign was restored and placed on the new building at the request of the Hillhurst/Sunnyside Community Association (HSCA).
