2020 Annual General Meeting
Our AGM was held on October 21 in person with social distancing and masks. As we had 6 positions open on the Board and 6 nominees, no election was required allowing us to keep the AGM exceptionally short at 30 minutes in total.
Once again, the Board has voted
not to increase the levy in 2021
(for the fifth year in a row).
Our primary focus in 2020 was on COVID information sharing and lobbying to City, Provincial and Federal Governments for aid and guidance to our membership. With the ‘new normal’ becoming more established , our focus now is shifting to Christmas and creating new digital and individual engaged events and further beautitifcation in the BIA with new lighting.
The highlight of the year was securing another $1.5M for streetscape improvements to the 2nd Avenue CTrain connection and The Plaza area as first identified in the HSCA ARP.
Thank you to the few who were able to attend the AGM. We are looking into changing our Bylaws to allow video attendance and private online voting for next year’s AGM.
