CRIME & SAFETY TOWN HALL // Join the ward 7 councillor, Calgary Police Service Superintendent for Community Policing in our area, a representative from Alpha House, a Sgt from our area, Kensington area Transit Sgt and the Kensington Community Resources Officer to learn about coordinated strategies to address issues like addiction, mental health, homelessness and crime. The Kensington BIA is hosting an in person panel discussion and town hall at the Hillhurst United Church on January 16 at 6:30 p.m.

Christmas in Kensington

With the first snowfalls of the season providing a cool welcome to our city, it’s hard to believe holidays are already less than two months away. We are excited for another fun run of Christmas in Kensington this year and wanted to update you on the events.

Weekend Activations

Patrons can expect a roster of local musicians performing in the plaza along Kensington Road on Saturdays, along with special visits from Santa and his elves. The ever-popular sleigh rides are back for attendees to explore the winter wonderland that is Kensington. In addition, a giant chess board will be set up for entertainment, along with fire pits and hot chocolate to warm your bones.

Activations will take place from noon – 3 p.m. on Saturdays: November 26, and December 3, 10, and 17. Businesses are open late on Saturday, November 26 for our annual Late Night Shopping event.

To support businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic The City has applied a BIA tax credit towards the entire 2021 BIA tax levy for our Kensington Member Businesses! The BIA tax credit funding is equal to the total 2021 BIA tax levy.
