Did you know that Kensington is considered the ‘Burger Alley’ of Calgary? Well, now you do! Local burger joint, Burger 320 certainly does not let that reputation down. We were thrilled to have the chance to sit down and chat with our burger-flipping neighbours. Burger 320 is Kensington’s go-to for classic burgers, shakes and fries with a local, community-based twist.

Chef Mario, owner of all three Burger 320 locations (Bridgeland, Kensington and Inglewood), opened the Kensington burger joint back in 2015. Coming from a fine-dining background, he places heavy emphasis on the quality of food and ingredients. It was their delicious house-made buns with the logo ‘320’ branded into them that made them famous. Now, people come from all over Canada to try their famous BBQ rhubarb onion chutney topping – a recipe dating back 90 years! In addition to the Kensington community, the restaurant has been visited by figures like Bishop Henry, John Catucci from You Gotta Eat Here, Mayor Nenshi, Rachel Notley and Kaillie Humphries.

With its farm-to-table menu, everything is made either in-house or purchased from local producers. What’s the best seller on the menu, youask? The Wickens Burger – farm bacon, block cheddar, garlic aioli, arugula, and BBQ rhubarb onion chutney. Burger 320 hosts and caters birthdays, weddings and is “a place where people can feel at home and be comfortable being themselves,” says Chef Mario.

When asked what his favourite thing about being located in Kensington was, Chef Mario highlighted that the central location on Kensington Road has a rich sense of community that is created by the people and their friendliness. We couldn’t be happier to have Burger 320 as a part of the Kensington family.
